Indulge in fantastic food, great wines and exquisite scenery at the 2016 Big Sur Food and Wine Festival. Local and visiting restaurateurs, resorts and wineries from all over will team up for dinners and tastings at unique Big Sur locations. Proceeds from the event benefit health, safety, art and educational programs in the area.
The Big Sur Food and Wine Festival kicks off on Thursday with a special "Magical Mystery Tour." This "hiking with stemware" event features glimpses into hidden gardens and homes throughout Big Sur with a winemaker and chef to guide the way.
Friday offers "Hiking with Stemware" where guests will enjoy a special hike paired with wines and a "Magical Mystery Tour" through several Big Sur homes. There will also be panel discussions and a Pinot Walkabout.
The Henry Miller Library will light up the night for a special evening during "Wine and Swine." Chefs will prepare pork inspired dishes that will be served with plenty of wine, of course!
The Walkabout Marketplace takes place today at Loma Vista Gardens near Big Sur Bakery. Enjoy a stellar afternoon with winemakers, chefs and other special guests.
The final "Hoe Down" takes place in the evening at the Henry Miller Library beginning at 6pm. The closing hootenany features live local music, terrific local food and amazing wines and craft beers.
Several Big Sur venues host winemaker dinners throughout the weekend on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Some events include live music, with limited seating. The official ticketing page will indicate the time and location of each dinner.
