Come Home to Monterey Bay
Sea Haven is blessed with the most beautiful, scenic views and access to numerous public trails with significant historical background. The community sits near the Fort Ord National Monument, a 14,651 acre natural preserve managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management as part of the National Landscape Conservation Program. It is the first nature reserve in the U.S. created for the conservation of the endangered Smith’s Blue Butterfly. In 2012, President Barack Obama signed a proclamation in which he stated “the protection of the Fort Ord area will maintain its historical and cultural significance, attract tourists and recreationalists from near and far, and enhance its unique natural resources, for the enjoyment of all Americans.”
A Wide Range Of Activities To Keep You On Your Toes
One of the greatest attributes to living at Sea Haven, beyond its relationship to the sea, is its close proximity to the world-renowned Monterey Peninsula and the golf mecca of the world. Most who play golf at Pebble Beach, Spyglass or Spanish Bay travel from great distances around the world, while residents of Sea Haven are only 20 minutes away – just to the north. There are a plethora of additional activities to enjoy in and around Monterey, including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, whale watching, sailing, swimming, paragliding, cycling and more. For the wine aficionados, there are picturesque wineries and organized tours. And if that isn’t enough, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the best in the world and an enlightening experience for family and friends of all ages.
Shop, Dine, Taste, Play
Sea Haven residents won’t have to travel far for a delicious meal or a fun shopping adventure. The Dunes Shopping District is just down the street and offers large scale stores such as Old Navy, Target, Michaels, Best Buy, REI, and more. And “10th Street” is a new entertainment district currently in planning at The Dunes that is scheduled to feature specialty shops, a variety of restaurants and a Cinemark 5 screen theatre complex. Just 20 minutes to the south is the city of Monterey, which offers many popular landmarks, including Cannery Row, with its wonderful boutique shops and restaurants, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and an endless array of local art galleries, antique and retail shops, savory restaurants, and wine tasting opportunities.
